Joel R. Voelkert was named President - Construction Products Group of American Buildings Company. R. Charles Blackmon was appointed Executive Vice President and CFO See Chief Financial Officer.  of American Buildings Company. The new positions become effective August 1, 1996. Ammerman remains CEO.

Mr. Ammerman stated that because of the dramatic growth of American Buildings over the past few years, it was appropriate to modify the structure to assure organizational effectiveness Organizational effectiveness is the concept of how effective an organization is in achieving the outcomes the organization intends to produce. The idea of organizational effectiveness is especially important for non-profit organizations as most people who donate money to non-profit  and customer support within the core business group while not impeding developmental programs important to our future. The Construction Products Group includes the Buildings, Roofing, Heavy Fabrication fabrication (fab´rikā´shn),
n the construction or making of a restoration.
 and Components Divisions.

Joel Voelkert will retain responsibility for Sales and Marketing for the Buildings, Roofing, Heavy Fabrication and Components Divisions. Additionally, Technical Services and Operations (Manufacturing) will be included within his group. Mr. Voelkert who joined American Buildings in 1976, has served in numerous sales positions and has been Vice President - Sales and Marketing since 1991.

Mr. Blackmon in his new role will focus on international support, corporate business development and investor relations Investor relations

, in addition to his CFO responsibilities. Mr. Blackmon joined American Buildings in 1980 and has been CFO since 1994.

With the changes, Mr. Ammerman indicated he would remain actively involved in all aspects of the business but would spend proportionately more time in international and corporate business development programs.

American Buildings Company designs, manufactures and markets metal building systems for industrial, commercial and institutional markets, and is a major manufacturer and marketer of metal roofing systems. In addition, The Company paints steel coils, manufactures and markets building components, and provides specialty engineering services for large, complex building structures. The Company markets throughout North America and in selected international countries.
