American Building Control's MDI Subsidiary Wins Major Enterprise Security System Contract.

LEWISVILLE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 2, 2003

American Building Control, Inc. (Nasdaq:ABCX) announces that its Monitor Dynamics International, S.A. ("MDI" or "MDI International") subsidiary, located in Lausanne, Switzerland, was awarded the contract to provide security solutions for the European and regional headquarters for Edison, S.p.A., located in Milan, Italy.

Edison S.p.A. is the oldest Italian energy company, and is also one of the oldest in the world. Today, Edison S.p.A. plays a key role in the Italian energy sector and is the only company that deals in both the production and sale of electric power and natural gas.

MDI is providing Edison S.p.A. with its SAFEnet Security Suite Management System, which will offer access control, intrusion alarm, and CCTV integration and control to multiple locations. An MDI certified system integrator has already begun the installation.
