The software, which has been 3 years in development, offers total building security integration. The architecture design allows global, cost-effective, network centric control of all building security sub-systems on one operator console. The system uses the latest "state of the art" techniques to provide access control, alarm management, digital video surveillance, digital video recording, digital photo ID badging, digital audio, and much more.

The suite of software tools allows the customer to set up their security system requirements To be used efficiently, all computer software needs certain hardware components or other software resources to be present on a computer system. The MDI suite is based on a software framework similar in appearance and functionality to e-mail applications. Version 6.0 uses "Smart Plug-Ins" - which are small modules that are dynamically loaded into the system framework to provide all current features, as well as any new or special capabilities developed for the MDI Security Suite in the future. This represents an unprecedented level of expandability and customization capability required for today's security system user.

EASE OF USE: User friendly graphical user interface graphical user interface (GUI)

The integration of the sub systems uses a common database.

Version 6.0 configures to any number of users and cardholders. The system server can support full redundancy as well as up to 255 workstations and tens of thousands alarms, relay control points, and access doors per server. Version 6.0 supports multiple servers allowing the users to expand locally or globally without restrictions. MDI Security Suites users will be able to manage thousands of doors in a single building, campus setting, or on global basis. Mission-critical applications on a wide area network across the globe are exactly what Version 6.0 was designed for. The new version 6.0 supports customizable event messages to the operator allowing management to dictate event processes. Action lists provide operators with selectable action items to allow the operator to handle each event from a dynamic list of options.

INTEGRATION: The soon to be released 6.1 seamlessly integrates MDI's alarm management, access control and video/audio subsystems (integration being distinguished with common GUIs and common database). With version 6.1, operators have a direct link to live or digitally stored video applications, alarm signals and stored cardholder card·hold·er
