Marcus, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, indicated first quarter profits were below year ago levels at all operations due to the soft economy. This weakness was most evident in the results of the flooring segment, which includes Congoleum Corporation (AMEX-CGM), a 55% owned subsidiary, and Janus Flooring.
