American Bank (OTCBB:BKMD.OB) Rockville, Maryland, President and CEO, Phillip C. Bowman, announced that The Board of Directors has declared a Four cents ($0.04) cash dividend per share of common stock to shareholders of record as of May 17, 2002.

The dividend is payable on May 31, 2002.

The Board of Directors feels given the strength of our capital and the strong first quarter earnings, excluding the proxy costs it is appropriate to continue to reward the shareholders with a quarterly cash dividend.
