American Access Technologies Eyes Government Contracts Through Partner SmartNet.Business Editors LAKE MARY, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 12, 2000 American Access Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ Small Cap:AATK AATK - Always At the Keyboard) announced today that it will partner with SmartNet, a service company that negotiates government contracts and works with manufacturers to sell into the government market. "Once a Government Services Administration (GSA) contract is in place, we will work with American Access' sales team and its distributors all over the country to sell into the government market. Our unique program will give American Access a tremendous opportunity to capture sales in this $70 billion government market," said David Austin, vice president and general manager of SmartNet. With a total Information Technology solution available, a government buyer can order whole telecommunications systems, including installation services, all on one contract, Austin added. "This is an untapped market for us, and we expect to make inroads in GSA sales much more quickly than if we had to bid government jobs or negotiate contracts ourselves," said John Presley, president of American Access. Presley said that Wil Boyd, vice president of national accounts, will head the company's efforts in the GSA Teaming Partner Program with SmartNet. American Access manufactures zone cabling units that mount in ceilings, raised floors, and in custom furniture. The Company's concept of "zone cabling" reduces costs for installation and moves, adds, and changes by as much as 70%. News and product/service information are available at www.aatk.com.
