American Access Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:AATK AATK Always At the Keyboard ), will partner with Bronder Technical Services, Inc. in developing a wireless access point enclosure connecting students and faculty to the telecommunications networks A telecommunications network is a of telecommunications links and nodes arranged so that messages may be passed from one part of the network to another over multiple links and through various nodes.  at major universities.

"Wireless networks can be supported through the use of zone cable enclosures with fiber backbones and distributed switches. These particular enclosures will house wireless transmitters and receivers that will connect laptop computers A portable computer that has a flat LCD screen and usually weighs less than eight pounds. Today's high-end laptops provide all the capabilities of most desktop computers.  anywhere on campus to the university network," said American Access Vice President Wil Boyd.

Bronder's representative, Mike Ward, said four major universities are scheduled to buy the wireless access enclosures currently being co-developed.

"We believe the development of wireless access points will provide a catalyst for sales of American Access zone cable enclosures," Boyd said.

Established in 1992, Bronder specializes in the development of new network designs.

American Access manufactures patented zone cabling units that mount in ceilings, raised floors, and in custom furniture, routing traditional cabling and fiber optics fiber optics, transmission of digitized messages or information by light pulses along hair-thin glass fibers. Each fiber is surrounded by a cladding having a high index of refractance so that the light is internally reflected and travels the length of the fiber  to the office desktop. The Company's concept of "zone cabling" reduces costs for installation and moves, adds, and changes by as much as 70% while providing plug and play, up-gradable networks, fiber optics and wireless LAN A local area network that transmits over the air typically in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz unlicensed frequency band.
