American Academy of Forensic Sciences elects LabOne's Michael A. Peat as president-elect.


LENEXA, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 14, 1996--LabOne Inc. (NASDAQ/NMS: LABS) today announced that Michael A. Peat, Ph.D., senior vice president, toxicology, at LabOne Inc., has recently been elected as president-elect of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences The American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) is a professional society for people in all areas of forensics.

The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. , Canada and 44 other countries throughout the world.

As a professional society, the Academy is dedicated to the application of science to the law and is committed to the promotion of education and the evaluation of accuracy, precision, and specificity in the forensic sciences. Peat has served on the Academy's board since 1987 in the positions of vice president and treasurer.
