America West Selects AD OPT Technologies' Altitude Crew Scheduling Systems -- The United States' 9th Largest Airline Will Use Altitude PBS to Schedule its 1,600 Pilots.


MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 21, 1999--

AD OPT Technologies Inc. (ME:AOP.) (TSE:AOP.), a leading developer and vendor of advanced human resource scheduling and optimization software, today announced that Phoenix-based America West Airlines America West Airlines was one of the United States' ten major airlines. The airline was based in Tempe, Arizona, and is now a part of US Airways Group.

Preferential Bidding is a method of solving transportation workforce schedules consisting of specific flights and certain qualified crewmembers, or "Pairings", while allowing those crewmembers to request periodic work schedules using weighted
 (PBS).

Altitude PBS will be used to schedule all of America West's 1,600 pilots. Altitude PBS will be installed at America West beginning in October 1999. The contract is valued in excess of U.S.$1 million.

AD OPT's products serve as operation planning tools that allow companies with large and complex scheduling functions to reduce costs, enhance planning capabilities and improve employee quality of life. Altitude PBS is a comprehensive system that allows creation of the pilot lines (schedules), taking into consideration their personal preferences expressed as bid options.

Employees can submit their bids from home or remote locations through the Internet or via the designated terminal located in airport pilot offices.
