America West Selects AD OPT Technologies' Altitude Crew Scheduling Systems -- The United States' 9th Largest Airline Will Use Altitude PBS to Schedule its 1,600 Pilots.

AD OPT Technologies Inc. (ME:AOP.) (TSE:AOP.), a leading developer and vendor of advanced human resource scheduling and optimization software, today announced that Phoenix-based America West Airlines has purchased AD OPT's Altitude(tm) Preferential Bidding System (PBS).

Altitude PBS will be used to schedule all of America West's 1,600 pilots. Altitude PBS will be installed at America West beginning in October 1999. The contract is valued in excess of U.S.$1 million.

AD OPT's products serve as operation planning tools that allow companies with large and complex scheduling functions to reduce costs, enhance planning capabilities and improve employee quality of life. Altitude PBS is a comprehensive system that allows creation of the pilot lines (schedules), taking into consideration their personal preferences expressed as bid options.

Employees can submit their bids from home or remote locations through the Internet or via the designated terminal located in airport pilot offices.
