America West Airlines and GetThere.com Announce Plans To Enter Strategic Alliance.


PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 27, 1999--

The letter of intent outlines a strategic alliance targeted at providing America West customers with the latest online technology for travel booking and extending GetThere.com's position as a leading technology provider for airline and corporate travel sites. In connection with the alliance, America West also is making a minority investment in GetThere.com.

"America West has enjoyed great success with its Web site," said Bernie Han, senior vice president, planning at America West. "With our exponential growth, we needed to increase our online booking capabilities and provide even greater online services and functionality to our customers. GetThere.com has a solid reputation in providing leading-edge technology for online travel services."
