America Votes: Chicago Native is Hilton Hotels' Next Emerging Musical Artist.

Winner Meets With Atlantic Records Executives and Platinum-Selling Recording Artist James Blunt

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- The votes are in. Chicago musician Nick Benos has been selected as Hilton Hotels' newest emerging artist in the "Your Passion. Your Song. Your Journey." Singer/Songwriter contest. As the winner, Benos was given the opportunity of a lifetime to continue his musical journey - a trip to Los Angeles to meet with Atlantic Records A&R executives, the chance to introduce five-times platinum singer/songwriter James Blunt at a private concert at The Beverly Hilton, and the opportunity to meet and talk with Blunt backstage.

Music plays an integral role in Hilton Hotels' "Travel Should Take You Places" advertising campaign which features five songs from hot, new artists including James Blunt's "High." With the singer/songwriter contest Hilton celebrated the journeys of musicians from around the country, while asking America to pick its favorite new talent. Singer/songwriters were asked to share the story of their personal journey, their motivation for becoming a musical artist, and a video clip of a performance. Thousands of consumers voted online at www.yourmusicaljourney.com for their favorite of five finalists selected by a panel of judges.

Working as an IT specialist as his day job, 28-year-old winner Benos sees music as his true calling. Inspired by artists who create original music, Benos believes that songwriting is a getaway much like a great vacation.

"Growing up in the busy windy city, writing my own music has been my release from the stress of everyday life," said Benos. "I'm not motivated by money, fame or shenanigans. I'm motivated by knowing I created something that no other person in the world did. I'm immeasurably grateful to Hilton for providing this opportunity to share my passion with others."

"Both travel and music take us on a journey to awaken the spirit and inspire thought and reflection," said Jeffrey Diskin, senior vice president, Hilton Brand Management. "Groundbreaking emerging artists like James Blunt are an inspiration to aspiring musicians like Nick Benos, and continue to play an integral role in helping Hilton communicate our brand philosophy that travel is about the journey, not just the destination."
