) announced today that its operating subsidiary, Prison Health Services health services Managed care The benefits covered under a health contract , Inc. (PHS (Personal Handyphone System) A TDMA-based cellular phone system introduced in Japan in mid-1995. Operating in the 1880-1930 MHz band, PHS uses microcells that cover an area only 100 to 500 meters in diameter, resulting in lower equipment costs but requiring more base ), has entered into a new contract with the Vermont Department of Corrections for the provision of medical services to approximately 1,700 inmates in nine correctional facilities across the state. The new contract commenced on January 29, 2007, upon the expiration of the previous PHS contract. The new contract is structured on a cost-based model with defined risk-sharing and pay-for-performance parameters.
