America Online and Masterfoods USA Partner in Groundbreaking Promotional Program; Series of Online 'Firsts' Support M&M'S 'Great Color Quest' Promotion.

The partnership and associated activities feature a series of "firsts" for both America Online, Inc. and Masterfoods USA: the first-ever host-initiated rich media Welcome Screen experience featuring a major brand advertiser and the first coordinated multi-screen takeover effort, simultaneously running to coincide with the Great Color Quest promotion. Continuing through mid-March, the deal supports special promotions available across AOL's Channel Main screens and integrates elements of the offline initiatives - specifically announcing the discovery of the six winning bags of colored M&M'S(R).

Additionally, the custom designed rich media "spectacular" units will run on the AOL (A division of Time Warner, Inc., New York, NY, www.aol.com) The world's largest online information service with access to the Internet, e-mail, chat rooms and a variety of databases and services.  Welcome Screen and selected AOL Channel Main Screens in support of the new M&M'S(R) advertising campaign. Interactive, rich-media initiatives -- specially designed through collaboration between America Online and M&M'S(R) -- will educate consumers about and sustain the awareness for the "Great Color Quest" promotion, and invite AOL Members to participate in a virtual 'Color Quest' on AOL for chances to win additional daily instant win and weekly Grand Prize sweepstakes drawings. The online promotions, which begin January 14 and conclude March 11, will also be available at www.mmsgreatcolorquest.com or through AOL Keyword: Color Quest.
