 skyline and a kiss from Elizabeth Hurley have in common? They're each about to adorn a limited edition "AOL 8.0 Designer Disk." Over the last decade, AOL disks have become as much a part of the pop-culture landscape as the phrase "You've Got Mail The audio announcement heard millions of times per day by AOL users. The voice was recorded by Elwood "El" Edwards in 1989 at the suggestion of his wife Karen, who worked in customer service for Quantum Computer Services (before Quantum became AOL). ."(R) This special collection, to be formally unveiled on October 15th at a special AOL member celebration at Avery Fisher Hall Avery Fisher Hall, located in New York City, is a part of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts complex. Tom Cruise, Enrique Iglesias, Donna Karan, Magic Johnson, Matthew Broderick, Kate Spade, Elizabeth Hurley and a combined disk by Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Julianne Moore in anticipation of their upcoming film "The Hours", have all signed on to bring their own personal style directly to your mailbox.

Beginning October 15th, the original, signed artwork from each of these superstar designers will be auctioned on eBay to benefit their chosen charity. This special limited edition collection will also be featured online at AOL Keyword: Designer Disk so fans can check out their favorite celebrities' artwork and learn more about the causes they care about. In addition, 1,000 of each collectible AOL 8.0 Designer Disk will be distributed free at Bloomingdale's in New York City to mark the launch of AOL 8.0. In January 2003, a second limited edition run of these Designer Disks will be mailed to homes across the country as part of AOL's ongoing direct mail program.
