The next generation of AOL, AOL 7.0 offers a unique online experience based upon consumer research and member feedback. The new version of AOL 7.0 is already driving usage, accounting for more than half of AOL sessions worldwide. Enhancements to the most popular features of AOL such as e-mail, instant messaging Exchanging text messages in real time between two or more people logged into a particular instant messaging (IM) service. Instant messaging is more interactive than e-mail because messages are sent immediately, whereas e-mail messages can be queued up in a mail server for seconds or  and Buddy List (R) features; a brighter, streamlined look and feel; a new and improved Toolbar and AOL Media Player; redesigned channels and Welcome Screen to offer easier navigation and greater exposure of content; and strengthened channel offerings, including the new AutoCenter Channel and the revamped Informatica & Internet Channel, make the AOL experience even more convenient and relevant to the lives of AOL members in Brazil.

Enhancements to AOL's Most Popular Features

AOL 7.0 includes many improvements to the popular features members are already using each day, including:
-- The improved Toolbar has a new look and feel and includes My Calendar as
well as the Channel button, which launches the channel bar, giving members a
more flexible and practical way to navigate through channels.

-- Greater placement and prominence of news on all areas of AOL 7.0, as it is
of particular interest to Brazilian consumers. According to the AOL/RoperASW
International Cyberstudy 2001, 79% of Brazilian online consumers use the
Internet to obtain news.

-- The new AutoCenter Channel expands upon the AutoCenter, providing an even
more robust area to access content from partners such as AutoPlaza, AutoZ and
SuperAuto. This channel allows members to access the latest in automobile news
and information, search new and used cars for purchase, explore car financing
and participate in online chats.

-- The new Informatica & Internet Channel combines the old Internet and
Informatica channels, making it easier for consumers to access the latest
technology news and information in one place. This channel keeps members up to
date on the world of technology and allows members to access free downloads,
antivirus software, and useful technology tips and product guides.


New Brazil Toolbar, Channel Offerings and Integrated News

In addition to enhancements to AOL's popular features and services, AOL 7.0 in Brazil includes an improved Toolbar and offers two new channels, the Auto Channel and a revamped Informatica & Internet Channel. AOL 7.0 also offers increased placement and prominence of news integrated throughout the service, and allows America Online Brazil members to enjoy rich and compelling content available on 19 channels.

Marketing AOL 7.0 to Brazilian Consumers

AOL 7.0 CDs will be made available through a variety of marketing channels. The launch is also accompanied by a new advertising campaign that began today, and includes two TV spots highlighting AOL 7.0's new features. These commercials show AOL Brazil members discussing the advantages of being a part of the AOL community.
