The launch of America Online Argentina advances AOL's rapid expansion across the growing Latin American region. America Online Brasil, the Company's first service launched in the region, had the strongest start in AOL history and its members are currently spending record amounts of time online each day. America Online Brasil's growth should be further enhanced through AOL Latin America's strategic alliance with Banco Itau, recognized as one of the region's leading banks with extensive online banking operations. Through this strategic alliance, America Online Brasil will co-market a co-branded, customized version of its service to the bank's more than seven million customers.

Launched in July, America Online Mexico was the first Spanish language Spanish language, member of the Romance group of the Italic subfamily of the Indo-European family of languages (see Romance languages).
