America Online Announces New Multi-Year Marketing Agreement With HP.


DULLES, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 1998--

Making it Easier Than Ever for HP Customers to Access AOL

: AOL) the world's leading Internet online service announced today a multi-year agreement with Hewlett-Packard company, America's fastest-growing maker of home PCs, under which it will be easier than ever for HP customers to sign up for and access AOL through AOL's prominent placement on the desktop of new HP Pavilion PCs.

In addition, AOL will be one of the primary Internet online services offered on all new HP Pavilion PCs.

This agreement will allow users of HP Pavilion home PCs to access a customized co-branded version of the AOL service easily by clicking on an AOL icon on the desktop, or front screen, of certain models of HP Pavilion PCs.

This co-branded version of the AOL service will include an HP icon on the AOL toolbar The AOL Toolbar is made by AOL for Internet Explorer and Firefox.

It has a search box, Mail button (with mail counts for AOL and AIM Mailboxes), IM button, Video button, Games, Radio, and a Money button.
 and links to sites chosen by HP within the AOL "Favorite Places" folder.
