The new alliance makes ritzcamera.com, boatersworld.com and other phobo.com sites available across several America Online, Inc. brands, and gives America Online extensive promotion of AOL products and services through Ritz Camera Centers Beltsville, Maryland-based Ritz Camera Centers operates a chain of approximately 1,200 photography stores located in 48 states and the District of Columbia. These stores offer a variety of photography products and services, including one-hour photofinishing, digital imaging, and  and Phobo.com distribution channels. AOL and Ritz Camera will also be working together to provide AOL's "You've Got Pictures" (SM) service through Ritz Camera locations.

Under the five-year alliance, AOL and CompuServe members and visitors to AOL.COM, Netscape Netcenter and Spinner will have instant and direct access to the wide range of quality photo, video and digital products from ritzcamera.com, phobo.com's flagship site. The site will have prominent placement in the Shop@ online shopping destinations across several America Online brands, bringing ritzcamera.com's broad array of offerings to the more than 24 million combined AOL and CompuServe members, as well as the tens of millions of visitors to AOL's Web-based brands.

AOL will receive prominent promotion as the exclusive online service offered in Ritz stores and on ritzcamera.com, and Ritz Camera will also distribute free AOL CD-ROMs at the more than 1,000 Ritz Camera locations in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. In addition, boatersworld.com and outerbanksoutfitters.com, phobo.com's other sites, will be featured across AOL's Shop@ online shopping destinations, allowing users to find quality, low-cost equipment and related clothing items for boating, fishing and marine activities. The sites will also offer AOL as their exclusive online service.
