Dufrene and designed in the Italianate style, the Burlington Building was recognized as one of Omaha's best examples of contemporary commercial architecture. Originally built as a three-story structure, a fourth floor was added in 1886. The building was remodeled in 1899 by Omaha architect Thomas Rogers Kimball Thomas Rogers Kimball (1862 – 1934) was an American architect in Omaha, Nebraska.
