America's manufacturing losses are staggering.

"During the past 20 years, according to the U.S. Department of Labor, 4.8 million jobs were lost in manufacturing, while only 200,000 were gained. Thirty-seven states lost manufacturing jobs." Calling on the federal government to initiate an array of programs to reverse these losses, Clark University's Professor Gary Chaison seems unaware that federal policies are largely responsible for the manufacturing decline in the first place.
