America's top 10 Green Schools.

Kermit the Frog Kermit the Frog is a Muppet who was first introduced in 1955 and is one of puppeteer Jim Henson's most famous and beloved creations. Kermit was performed by Henson until his death in 1990. Since then, he has been performed by Steve Whitmire.  said it wasn't easy being green, but a new report from The Green Guide naming the top green schools in the U.S. casts doubts on Kermit's claim. "Interestingly, seven of the 10 are public schools," says Paul McRandle, The Green Guide's senior research editor. Although curriculum wasn't the only consideration, each school was asked about how it integrates the environment into teaching. At Sakai Intermediate, the students raise salmon; children at Goodwillie Environmental walk through the school's native plant prairie every day to track insect and plant life and, incidentally, get a little exercise.
