Steen has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of AmeriPath, in addition to his current role as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, which he assumed on March 22, 2004. Mr. Steen is the Chairman of United Surgical Partners, Inc., a company which he founded in February 1998 and in which he served as Chief Executive Officer from its founding until March 2004.
