Amedia Networks Announces Ultra-Broadband Fiber-to-the-Premises Solution.

Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

BROOKLYN, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 1, 2004

New QoStream(TM) Ethernet Switched Optical Network Platform to

Provide Unparalleled Quality of Service, Security, and Scalability

Amedia Networks (OTC BB: AANI, Berlin Stock Exchange: TEJ TEJ - Taiwan Economic Journal) today announced the introduction of the QoStream(TM) Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP) access solution. The Amedia Networks' solution is an ultra-broadband, carrier-class optical platform designed for service providers, cable operators, municipalities, and real estate developers to deliver cost effective high-speed Internet access, high definition and standard definition digital video, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services to business and residential customers. The Amedia Networks' product family will begin to be available in the third quarter of this year.

With proven technology and designs that are licensed from Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU), Amedia Networks will facilitate the unification of ubiquitous IP networks with the distribution of premises fiber to converge IP voice, HD video and ultra-broadband data through a single symmetrical gateway to homes and businesses. Utilizing Ethernet Switched Optical Network (ESON) technology, the QoStream(TM) product family from Amedia Networks supports an open IP access network solution.

"DynamicCity works with groups of cities to design, deploy and manage advanced communication networks. Our unique focus is to bring the Open Service Provider Network(TM) (OSPN OSPN - Office Sports Programming Network
OSPN - Open Service Provider Network (DynamicCity)
) model to these communities," said Jeff Fishburn, Chief Technology Officer of DynamicCity. "OSPN(TM) promotes multiple, competing service providers over high bandwidth, carrier class, and standards-based networks. The global standard of an Ethernet switched solution deployed through an active optical network not only best fits these driving principles but also has the lowest life cycle costs."

"Service providers are seeking broadband solutions that deliver high-speed IP-based Internet access, voice and video services with the security and reliability of their existing circuit switched networks," said Michael Kennedy, PhD, co-founder and managing partner of Network Strategy Partners. "Amedia's QoStream(TM) solution melds IP/Ethernet performance with legacy network quality at a per home cost approaching that of mature technologies such as DSL and HFC."

"Our QoStream solution provides a platform for an open service delivery network that will lower initial costs and will reduce OA&M expenses." said Frank Galuppo, CEO of Amedia Networks. "We are excited to be bringing to the market a complete FTTP system that was specifically designed and tested for fiber access triple play applications,"

Amedia Networks' QoStream solution, which delivers up to 100 Mbps bandwidth per subscriber, includes:

-- The PG1000 Premises Gateway: Customer premises equipment

located at the subscriber's home or business to enable

ultra-broadband triple play services through a single gateway

termination.

-- The AS5000 Aggregation Switch: A scaleable environmentally

hardened distribution switch located up to 60 km from the

Central Office/Head End, delivering intelligent, modular, low

cost switching to the end-user location.

-- The CS1200: Core Switch: A 120Gbps Ethernet layer 2 switch

located at the Central Office/Head End of the service provider

network delivering carrier class reliability and industry

leading QoS.

-- The Director: a simple network management protocol (SNMP)

based full fault, configuration, accounting, provisioning and

security (FCAPS FCAPS - Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, Security management areas) Network Management System providing remote,

end-to-end single person network operations. Together, these

products will provide the communication protocols, software,

and hardware needed to implement a service provider's "triple

play" service package using Ethernet access technology.

"The system is designed for carrier class reliability, security and quality of service, meeting the bandwidth and service level requirements of even the most demanding users," said Bill Zakowski, Vice President of Business Development for Amedia Networks. "It also provides the ability to offer tiered rates of service, and is hardened for outside plant applications, which eliminates the need for any controlled environment cooling."
