Amec stated that securing this contract highlighted the strength of the company's position in providing services to the oil and gas majors. Amec's share price moved higher by 8.5p to close at 622p. Elsewhere in the market, local company Northgate provided the market with an update on its financial position. The company confirmed that following its interim management statement of 25 February, the business has been in discussions with its bankers with regard to restructuring the group's financial covenants. The aim of the restructuring process is to provide a platform to meet Northgate's requirements in the future.
