), today announced an advanced, pre-integrated platform that supports prepaid and postpaid billing for voice and data services. The solution is being demonstrated at the 3GSM World Congress conference in Amdocs booth B24, Hall 1 and HP booth A10, Hall 1.

Amdocs and HP have cooperated to pre-integrate the carrier-grade rating and balance management capabilities of the Amdocs Enabler product with the real-time call and session control capabilities of the HP Opencall Service Controller. With support for both prepaid and postpaid billing, the convergent solution enables mobile service providers (MSPs) to introduce innovative services and service bundles with prepaid and postpaid payment options. The solution eases integration with existing intelligent network (IN) infrastructures, resulting in faster time to market and reduced total cost of ownership.

"The integration of Amdocs Enabler with the HP Opencall Service Controller supports the robust, carrier-grade capabilities required by leading service providers," said Eli Gelman, Executive Vice President of Amdocs Management Limited. "As a unified prepaid-postpaid platform, the offering helps service providers lower total cost of ownership. Amdocs Enabler also improves customer loyalty by allowing the rapid introduction of new generation products and innovative rating schemes in both prepaid and postpaid environments. Working with market-leading partners such as HP, Amdocs continues to deliver the highest quality of service and products through joint innovation, experience and technology excellence."

Through real-time call and session control, MSPs are able to authorize prepaid services before the voice or data session, to let users interact with services and, upon balance depletion, take appropriate action such as call termination or routing to a replenishment server. This capability helps prevent revenue leakage, which frequently occurs with other prepayment schemes.

Similarly, with session control and real-time rating and balance management, MSPs can enable and control a subscriber's simultaneous use of both voice and data services, allowing concurrent usage of multiple services from a single account balance, while still reducing the risk of revenue loss or fraud.

Sebastiano Tevarotto, Vice President and General Manager at HP Network and Service Provider Business Unit, said, "HP Opencall technology helps mobile service providers deliver innovative services to millions of subscribers. The combination of the Amdocs Enabler product and HP Opencall software allows our companies to help service providers simplify BSS See 802.11.
