Amdahl Forms New Software Division and Names New Group President.


SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 1999--

Linda Wink to lead Amdahl's Software Division as it delivers

software solutions that provide business value through the

management of business processes.

Amdahl is a major supplier of large mainframes, UNIX and Open Systems software and servers, data storage subsystems, data communications products, applications development software, and a variety of educational and  today announced the appointment of Linda Wink to the position of Group President of the newly formed Amdahl Software Division. Linda Wink is reporting directly to the President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , David B. Wright. Linda Wink is directly responsible for managing the Software Division's R&D, product development, support and business development and management functions, including all direct sales and marketing worldwide.

Linda Wink has been with Amdahl Corporation since March of 1999, coming to Amdahl with the acquisition of Sentryl Software. Following a career that started at Candle Corporation as CFO See Chief Financial Officer. , Linda Wink has held executive level positions in the computer industry including Vice President of Finance and Administration at BMC Software BMC Software, Inc. NYSE: BMC, is an American enterprise management software provider, focusing on IT infrastructure applications. BMC was founded in 1980 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas. . In 1987, Ms. Wink co-founded MVS (Multiple Virtual Storage) Introduced in 1974, the primary operating system used with IBM mainframes (the others are VM and DOS/VSE). MVS is a batch processing-oriented operating system that manages large amounts of memory and disk space.  Software setting new standards in Automation Operations with OPS/MVS. Immediately preceding her role at Sentryl Software as Chief Executive Officer and President, Ms. Wink was `Interim CEO' for the e-commerce digital rights business unit at Xerox.
