Steven Murphy to Spearhead Rapid Growth for Amdahl's

Entrepreneurial Storage and Data Management Software Group

Amdahl Corporation today announced the appointment of Steven F. X. Murphy to the position of President of its newly formed Software Division, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer David B. Wright. Mr. Murphy will be directly responsible for strategic positioning, rapid growth and overall management of Amdahl Software.

Mr. Murphy has held executive level positions in the computer industry including President and Chief Operating Officer of Minacom Solutions, Vice President Worldwide Sales and General Manager of Network Management Software Group at Applied Digital Access, Vice President of Sales at Maxm Systems, and COO at SQL Software.

Mr. Murphy holds a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from Mount Saint Mary's College. He and his wife, Lise, and their two children reside in Washington D.C.
