Amcast Receives First Order from DaimlerChrysler. (North America).


Amcast Industrial Corp., Dayton, Ohio Dayton is a city in southwestern Ohio, United States. It is the county seat and largest city of Montgomery County. As of the 2005 census estimate, the population of Dayton was 158,873. , was awarded its first aluminum road wheel order in North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  from DaimlerChrysler Corp. The value and volume of the contract remain undisclosed.

The wheel order is for a 2003 model year Chrysler mid-sized sedan Sedan (sədäN`), town (1990 pop. 22,407), Ardennes dept., NE France, on the Meuse River. A noted textile center since the 16th cent., Sedan also has metal and brewing industries. The town became part of French crown lands in 1642. , and will be produced at one of Amcast's two plants in Indiana.

Initial production shipments for this program will begin during the first quarter of 2003 and are estimated to utilize 8-10% of the company's U.S. wheel capacity.
