Amcast Nets Contracts for Two 2002 GM Models.


The Amcast Automotive Div. of Amcast Industrial Corp., Dayton, Ohio Dayton is a city in southwestern Ohio, United States. It is the county seat and largest city of Montgomery County. As of the 2005 census estimate, the population of Dayton was 158,873. , was awarded two new contracts to supply aluminum wheels for General Motors (GM) Corp., Detroit.

The wheels will be produced for the 2002 Chevrolet Malibu The Chevrolet Malibu (named after Malibu, California) is a mid-size car produced in the United States by General Motors. It is marketed in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Israel.  and Cavalier models, Initial production shipments of the wheels will begin in the winter.

While the specific terms of the contracts weren't disclosed, each contract is for several years, according to according to
prep.

The wheels will be manufactured at two Indiana foundries--the Fremont Plant in Fremont and the Gas City Plant in Marion, he added.

Amcast Automotive casts aluminum via low pressure permanent mold casting to serve the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  automotive market.
