"We chose to work with Silicon Wave because their Bluetooth solution offers superior RF performance," said Frank Hsu, vice president of Ambit Microsystems. "They are also the leader in developing Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless coexistence solutions, and provided valuable insight into designing a module compliant with the rigorous specifications of the Intel Wireless Coexistence System."

Based on unique direct conversion radio architecture and an integrated 32-bit ARM7TDMI(R) processor core, the Silicon Wave Bluetooth solution is ideally suited for minimizing interference as it introduces fewer spurious emissions and will not raise the noise floor in the 2.4GHz band that would compete with the Wi-Fi signals. Ambit has combined their design expertise with Silicon Wave's superior performance to meet the challenge of providing a solution that will allow mobile PC users to operate both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless technologies simultaneously while maintaining optimal system throughput, range and responsiveness.

"The Ambit module delivers an easy to integrate coexistence solution to OEMs incorporating both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technologies into Centrino mobile technology-based notebook PCs," said Jarvis Tou, vice president of marketing and product management for Silicon Wave. "Using a pre-qualified module decreases design complexity and speeds a product to market."

Samples of the Bluetooth module for Intel Centrino mobile technology are available now. For more information or to order modules, contact Ambit Microsystems or Silicon Wave.
