OAKLAND, Calif. -- AmberPoint today announced its support for Microsoft BizTalk Server Microsoft BizTalk Server, often referred to as simply "BizTalk", is a business process management (BPM) server. Through the use of "adapters" which are tailored to communicate with different software systems used in a large enterprise, it enables companies to automate and integrate  2006 R2, the latest version of Microsoft Corp.'s services oriented architecture (SOA) and business process management (BPM) server. The combination of AmberPoint's SOA runtime governance software and Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 enables organizations to achieve comprehensive management capabilities as they connect core business processes across applications, platforms and partners.

Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 provides customers the ability to connect real-time business processes and leverage intelligent RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) A data collection technology that uses electronic tags for storing data. The tag, also known as an "electronic label," "transponder" or "code plate," is made up of an RFID chip attached to an antenna.  data. The Microsoft ESB Guidance provides architectural guidance, patterns and practices, and a set of BizTalk Server Software from Microsoft that provides integration between business processes within an enterprise and between different organizations. BizTalk Server uses protocol implementations called "adapters" to communicate with applications and includes built-in adapters and a framework for  and .NET components to simplify the development of large and small-scale enterprise service bus (ESB) solutions on the Microsoft platform. It also provides capabilities that help developers to extend existing messaging and integration solutions.
