Ambassador Canon's Sponsorship Of Midwest PBA Open To Benefit Make-A-Wish-Foundation of Northern Illinois.
Helps Fulfill Special Wishes of Children Battling Life-Threatening Illnesses
SCHAUMBURG, Ill., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Ambassador Business Solutions, an Illinois-based subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern Illinois today announced that Ambassador will host the 1999 Ambassador Canon -- Midwest Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Open to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern Illinois. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is dedicated to fulfilling the favorite wishes of children battling life-threatening illness.
The Ambassador Canon -- Midwest PBA Open will be held on July 17-18, 1999 at the Poplar Creek Bowl in Hoffman Estates, Illinois and will include a Pro- Am Tournament as the primary fundraising activity, offering amateur bowlers the opportunity to engage in matches with senior professional bowlers on this scheduled PBA tour stop.
The event is the latest in a series of Ambassador Canon initiatives to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern Illinois. Over the past few years, Ambassador Canon has supported Make-A-Wish fundraisers through event sponsorships and by producing fundraising materials, including color posters of Chicago area children whose wishes have been fulfilled. Ambassador also donated a Canon NP6551 copier to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in 1998, to enable the organization to reproduce large volumes of printed material.

Poplar Creek Bowl has donated use of its facility for the Ambassador Canon -- Midwest PBA Open in support of the Make-A-Wish fundraiser, according to Lorrie Nichols, manager of Poplar Creek Bowl. The event, which is open to qualified senior professional bowlers, begins at 9 a.m. on July 17 and continues on July 18 at 10 a.m. Amateur bowlers may register for the Pro-Am Tournament, with games scheduled for July 17 at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., by contacting Ms. Nichols at 847-310-9585.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern Illinois is dedicated to fulfilling the favorite wishes of children between the ages of 2-1/2 and 18 who are battling life-threatening illnesses. It is the oldest and largest wish granting organization in the world.
