Amazon.com, Inc.'s Board of Directors Authorizes $500 Million Stock Repurchase Program.


SEATTLE -- Amazon.com, Inc. (the "Company") announced today that its Board of Directors authorized au·thor·ize  
tr.v. au·thor·ized, au·thor·iz·ing, au·thor·iz·es
1. To grant authority or power to.

2. To give permission for; sanction:
 the Company to repurchase up to $500 million of the Company's common stock within the next 24 months, through one or more open market transactions, privately negotiated transactions, transactions structured through investment banking institutions or a combination of the foregoing. The program allows the Company to opportunistically repurchase its shares. The Company may do so if it believes its shares are undervalued Undervalued
