Amazing Natural Wonders of Hawaii

Hawaii is filled with majestic natural wonders. Here are a few of the most picturesque places that you will ever see.

Hawaii is filled with natural beauty; you are able to find stunning flowers like orchids, anthurium flowers and heliconia flowers. Uncommon wildlife including the green sea turtle, hawaiian monk seal and nene goose also dwell here. Hawaii is also the place to see picturesque wonders such as regal mountain tops, green valleys and towering waterfalls.

Akaka Falls is situated on the Big Island, just outside of the sleepy town of Honomu. This majestic water fall is 422 feet high. To view it you'll have to go for a short 0.4 mile stroll on a smooth path that winds through a verdant tropical forest. You'll see native trees, bamboo and tree ferns, and you will hear numerous birds singing as you make your way down the path. At the end of the trail, you'll see Akaka Falls in all its majesty.

Volcano is a village in Hawaii, where you guessed it, the Kilauea Volcano is situated. You will have to pay a tiny charge to enter the Volcano National Park, but it's well worth it. When inside you'll see the Halemaumau Crater along with the Jagger Volcano Observatory. You can, in addition, observe steam vents and walk over the bottom part of Kilauea Iki crater. While there, don't forget to walk through the Thurston Lava Tube and have lunch at the Volcano House restaurant.

The Iao Needle is a towering, 2,250 foot high rock column that is situated within the Iao Valley on the island of Maui. The needle used to be employed as a natural altar. The valley is filled with vegetation and was the site of one of the most important fights in Hawaii's history. In 1790, King Kamehameha's military beat the Maui military as part of his successful pursuit to unite the Hawaiian Islands.

Mauna Kea is a mountain that is higher than Mount Everest when measured from its base at the bottom of the sea floor. It is home to a variety of telescopes and observatories that are looking deep into space to the edges of the universe. Frequently, it is blanketed with snow, which isn't something you would expect to view in Hawaii. Its peak is the very top of the whole island and on a clear day you may see a majestic panorama that includes both coasts of the island.
