Amanda Burton (born October 10, 1956 in Ballougry, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland) is an actress best known for her role as forensic pathologist Doctor (later Professor) Sam Ryan in the BBC
 

ACTRESS Amanda Burton is backing the Yorkshire Building Society's Christmas appeal.

The society, which has its roots in Huddersfield, is raising cash for The Children's Trust and The Princess Royal Trust for Carers with its Caring Together Appeal.

The Princess Royal Trust for Carers is a national charity that supports carers through centres and websites.

The Children's Trust provides care, education and rehabilitation rehabilitation: see physical therapy.  for children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs.

The building society's 131 branches and 75 agencies will raise money by holding prize draws.
