Amanda Rodrigues denies involvement in husband's death (Photo).

Amanda Rodrigues, the wife of former boxing champion, Arturo Gatti was on Sunday detained as a suspect in her husband's death over the weekend.

Gatti was found dead with head and neck wounds in a hotel room at a Porto de Galinhas resort on Saturday.

Twenty-three-year-old Rodrigues was arrested following contradictions in her interrogation.

According to the Rodrigues' sister, Flavia Rodrigues, Amanda denies any involvement in her husband's death and says that the Canadian boxer committed suicide, <em>Folha </em>reported.

A spokeswoman for the Pernanmbuco state civil police said Gattia was apparently strangled with the strap of a purse, found with blood stains on the scene, according to AP.
