Amadeus Wolf colt is day's best at EUR60,000.

60,000 colt from the first crop of the Middle Park Stakes The Middle Park Stakes is a Group 1 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for two-year-old thoroughbred colts. It is run over a distance of 6 furlongs (1,207 metres) at Newmarket's Rowley Mile course in late September or early October.  hero Amadeus Wolf stole the limelight on the second day of Goffs November Foal Sale.

Trade moved up a gear yesterday as 121 of the 189 horses offered were sold to produce a clearance rate of 64 per cent and a turnover of just over EUR1.3 million. The average came in at EUR10,784 while the median was EUR8,000.

The session topper was bought by Ross Doyle after he had seen off a number of challengers for the Gary Swift consigned grandson of the top sprinter Mozart.

His purchase is a half-brother to the winning Jessica Harrington inmate Uncle Eric and is out of a half-sister to the Dubai Duty Free scorer Right Approach.

"I've bought him for Pier House Stud to be resold next autumn," said Doyle.

"He's a very nice sort with plenty of size about him which you would like. Also, he's by a sire whose first foals this week have been a good bunch."

Doyle was also on hand to pick up a EUR42,000 colt from the first crop of Jim Bolger's Meld Stakes winner Heliostatic.

Offered by JK Thoroughbreds, he is the second foal out of the Listed-winning juvenile Midris.

The EUR42,000 mark was also reached by Bambury-based consigner Keith Harte when he secured a daughter of Medicean from Ballybin Stud.

"I've bought her for a client to be reoffered next year. She's a lovely, good tempered filly and is very typical of her sire," saidd Harte Amadeus Wolf was again to the fore as the session neared its conclusion when Paul McCarthy paid EUR37,000 for a son of his from Foxford Stud.

Much earlier in the day Ciaran Conroy forked out EUR35,000 for a Holy Roman Emperor half-brother to the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes The Mill Reef Stakes is a Group 2 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for two-year-old thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 6 furlongs and 8 yards (1,214 metres) at Newbury Racecourse in September.  hero Cool Creek.

"I think the sire has an excellent chance of making it and if he Fanjura, who has now gone to Australia, and hopefully he'll go the right way," said Browne.

"Tiger Hill has had a few nice two-year-old winners in the last few weeks and could be set for a good year.

"This foal had a lot of quality about him and he, like the Marju, will be reoffered."

David Powell of Catridge Farm Stud went to EUR34,000 to secure a daughter of the eminent first season sire Oratorio oratorio (ôrətôr`ēō), musical composition employing chorus, orchestra, and soloists and usually, but not necessarily, a setting of a sacred libretto without stage action or scenery. .

His purchase is out of a halfsister to a Cherry Hinton Stakes The Cherry Hinton Stakes is a Group 2 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for two-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run over a distance of 6 furlongs (1,207 metres) on the July Course at Newmarket Racecourse in early July.  winner in Spinola.

"She's a very nice filly and we'll bring her home and see how she progresses before deciding whether to reoffer her or keep her to race," said Powell.

Later, Tally-Ho Stud spent EUR31,000 for a son of the popular High Chaparral whose pedigree goes back to the champion British juvenile Mujtahid in addition to giving EUR26,000 for a Kodiac halfbrother to the Horris Hill Stakes The Horris Hill Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for two-year-old thoroughbred colts and geldings. It is run over a distance of 7 furlongs (1,408 metres) at Newbury Racecourse in late October.

Prior to 1987 fillies were allowed to compete in the race.

Sales details, page 83 does this horse will hopefully be a very saleable yearling next autumn," said Conroy.

"He's a half-brother to a Mill Reef winner and I was actually under bidder on his half-brother here last year."

Willie Browne wasted little time making an impact yesterday morning and he spent EUR37,000 on a Tiger Hill colt belonging to Gerry Mullins.

He hails from the immediate family of the Arc winner Marienbard. Several minutes before this Browne gave EUR25,000 on a Marju colt from Crossogue Stud.
