AmSafe Aviation, the world's leading provider of seatbelts and inflatable restraints, or airbags, for commercial and general aviation aircraft, today announced its joint venture with Cirrus to outfit all SR20 and SR22 aircraft with the AmSafe Aviation Inflatable Restraint (AAIR(R)) as standard equipment for all pilot and co-pilot seats. This collaboration is being officially announced and celebrated at the renowned EAA EAA Experimental Aircraft Association
EAA European Aluminium Association (Brussels, Belgium)
EAA European Acoustics Association
EAA Export Administration Act
EAA Everglades Agricultural Area
EAA European Association of Archaeologists
 2005 Oshkosh Adventure in Wisconsin.

Cirrus' acceptance of the AAIR(R) now means that more than 58% of the world's general aviation aircraft deliveries will have airbags on board as standard safety equipment. AmSafe's inflatable restraints are currently being installed on aircraft built by the two largest general aviation aircraft manufacturers. These manufacturers are leading the way to the next level of safety technology. Pilots, crew members and passengers will be safer flying with the AAIR(R) which is a lightweight, yet protective airbag built to be both functional and adaptable a·dapt·a·ble

to different types of aircraft. It is known for being the world's first airbag for airplanes.

"Since its introduction to the aviation industry in 2001, the inflatable restraint has seen tremendous market acceptance among both commercial and general aviation aircraft," said Joe Smith, general manager of AmSafe Aviation's Inflatable Restraint Division. "The fact that the two largest manufacturers of general aviation aircraft are now offering our inflatable restraint systems to their customers further demonstrates the customers' desire for added safety and protective equipment on board while flying. Safety enhancement should be a key concern for anyone who climbs into an aircraft, and we are setting the precedent for safer flying everywhere, no matter what type of aircraft you fly. You should have the same level of protection when you fly as you do when you drive your car."

Market acceptance of the AAIR(R) is evident with Cirrus now embracing this safety technology. AmSafe Aviation and its customers have secured or are in the process of securing multiple Supplemental Type Certificates The Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) is the Federal Aviation Administration term for the approval that extends a type certificate for modifications made to an airframe, engine, or appliance.
