AmEx names Cushman & Wakefield to manage downtown portfolio.

 property management responsibility for its 4.8 million square foot portfolio of properties in downtown Manhattan to Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., the commercial real estate services firm announced.

Steven W. Ford, national director of management services for Cushman & Wakefield, said "the assignment is another example of a major corporation showing confidence in Cushman & Wakefield's property management expertise."

The portfolio consists of the 2.4 million square foot American Express Tower at 200 Vesey Street; the 1.6 million-square-foot Shearson Lehman Brothers Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. (NYSE: LEH), founded in 1850, is a diversified, global financial services firm. It is a participant in investment banking, equity and fixed income sales, research and trading, investment management, private equity, and private banking.  Plaza at 388 Greenwich Street and the 800,000 square foot Faulkner Center at 390 Greenwich Street. The buildings are entirely occupied by headquarters and subsidiaries of the American Express Company.

"To be associated with such a fine portfolio is just outstanding," Ford said. "American Express considered several firms during a six-month search for a property manager, and the commitment of Richard Tubb As of 2007[1]Brig. Gen. Richard Tubb is the current Physician to the President to President George W. Bush, serving from at least 2002[2].
