PAULINE Hodgson has sent us these pictures as well as a review and a programme from the Billingham Amateur Dramatic Society from the late 1940s.

They feature her mother - Joyce Hardy Hardy may refer to:

Hardy (blacksmithing)
Hardiness (plants), the ability to survive adverse growing conditions
Hardy (surname)
The Hardy Boys, a detective series
Hardy Boyz, a wrestling team composed of Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy

, now Joyce Ridge in a couple of her roles.

Joyce, above right is playing Ada Weeks in the play Right Of Search in April 1947. What you can't tell from the picture is that she was hiding chicken and champagne in her trouser legs.

Above left is Joyce in January 1948 in a starring role.

The programme, left, is from April 1947 in a performance of three one-act plays.
