Alzheimer's a cruel blow for sad Reagans.


FORMER US President Ronald Reagan, stricken by Alzheimer's disease Alzheimer's disease (ăls`hī'mərz, ôls–), degenerative disease of nerve cells in the cerebral cortex that leads to atrophy of the brain and senile dementia. , can no longer have a coherent conversation.

Nancy Reagan also said friends of her 88-year-old husband were no longer invited to their California home because he does not recognise them. Reagan no longer swims or takes walks, she said.
