Alvarion Names Efrat Makov as New Chief Financial Officer.

TEL AVIV, Israel -- Alvarion Ltd. (NASDAQ: ALVR), the world's leading provider of WiMAX and wireless broadband solutions, has named Efrat Makov as Chief Financial Officer effective April 1st. Dafna Gruber, Alvarion's departing CFO, will remain with the Company during the transition period.

Ms. Makov has held management positions with three Israeli-based NASDAQ-listed companies, most recently as Chief Financial Officer at Aladdin Knowledge Systems Ltd. where she was responsible for the finance, operations, information systems and human resources functions. Previously, she served as Vice President of Finance at Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. and earlier as the Director of Finance for NUR Macroprinters Ltd.. Prior to that, Ms. Makov spent seven years in public accounting with Arthur Andersen in New York, London and Tel Aviv. Ms. Makov is a Certified Public Accountant in Israel and the United States and holds a B.A. in Accounting and Economics from Tel Aviv University.
