Alvarez & Marsal Transaction Advisory Group Expands U.S. Practice; Seasoned Advisor Anthony Caporrino Joins as Managing Director in New York; Four Experienced Transaction Professionals Join New York and Chicago Offices.NEW YORK -- Alvarez & Marsal Transaction Advisory Group, LLC, a division of Alvarez & Marsal, the independent, privately-held global professional services firm, announced it has expanded its U.S. practice with the addition of several experienced professionals in New York and Chicago. Anthony Caporrino, who previously served in the transaction advisory services practices at Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen, has been named a managing director, based in New York. He joins Transaction Advisory Group co-heads and managing directors Nick Alvarez, Jack McCarthy and Paul Aversano, a former partner and New York director of middle market private equity at Ernst & Young who joined A&M in June. Also joining in New York are: Jonathan Schrubbe, formerly of Ernst & Young, as director, and Deep Parekh, formerly of KPMG, as manager. In Chicago, Eric Lorge, formerly of KPMG, has been named senior director and Raju Patel, formerly of Deloitte & Touche, has been named a manager. They join Sean Farnan, formerly of Ernst & Young, who joined the Chicago office as a director in May. Mr. Caporrino specializes in coordinating and leading financial accounting due diligence projects for both private equity and strategic buyers. Over the course of his career, he has performed financial accounting due diligence projects across numerous industries, including manufacturing, transportation, branded consumer products, technology, aerospace, distribution, insurance brokerage, medical device and entertainment. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Caporrino was a director in the transaction advisory services unit of Duff & Phelps, LLC, and previously, was with the transaction advisory services practices of both Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen in New York. Mr. Caporrino earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and economics from Boston College, Carroll School of Management. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New York, and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New York Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. Mr. Lorge specializes in providing buy-side financial due diligence services to private equity investors. Throughout the course of his career, he has led or participated in more than 75 middle-market transactions across several industries, including manufacturing, retail, energy, professional services, transportation, printing/packaging and for-profit education. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Lorge was a director of transaction services with KPMG, and previously, was with the transaction advisory services practice of Arthur Andersen in Chicago. He received a bachelor's degree, cum laude, in business administration from the University of Notre Dame, is a CPA licensed in the state of Illinois, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society and the University of Notre Dame Alumni Club of Chicago. Mr. Schrubbe leads financial accounting due diligence projects for both private equity firms and strategic buyers, advising on quality of earnings, leverage recapitalizations, purchase accounting, SEC reporting and GAAP accounting. He has advised clients, across multiple industries, on complex acquisitions involving businesses that are carved out of public and private companies and also has extensive experience advising private equity clients that fund transactions through the capital markets, such as private placement transactions under Rule 144A of the Securities Act of 1933. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Schrubbe was a senior manager with the transaction advisory services practice of Ernst & Young LLP in New York. Earlier in his career he was with Arthur Andersen. A graduate of Loyola College with a bachelor's degree in accounting, he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New York and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Patel specializes in accounting and financial analysis for buy-side, sell-side and post-transaction matters for both private equity firms and strategic buyers. Prior to joining A&M, he was a manager with the assurance and enterprise risk services practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP. Mr. Patel holds a bachelor's degree in finance, with concentrations in corporate finance and investment, and accountancy from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. He is a CPA licensed in the state of Illinois. Mr. Parekh specializes in accounting and financial analysis for both buy-side and sell-side transactions. Prior to joining A&M, he was a manager with the transaction services practice of KPMG LLP. Mr. Parekh holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Binghamton University, School of Management, is a CPA licensed in New York, and a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
