Alvarez & Marsal Expands Commercial Due Diligence Capabilities.
NEW YORK -- Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has expanded its commercial due diligence capabilities with the addition of Andrew Kutter who joined the firm's Private Equity Services group as Managing Director in San Francisco. In addition, the firm continues to build out its operationally oriented due diligence and post acquisition performance improvement expertise with the addition of Mark Halmrast and David Chambers who have joined as Directors.

Mr. Kutter, who is based in San Francisco, will focus on providing commercial due diligence as well as strategy for post-acquisition performance improvement and portfolio management.
He brings a wealth of expertise in top-line growth, performance improvement and commercial diligence to corporate and private equity clients active in a diverse range of sectors. His background also includes extensive experience in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and performance improvement issues for mid- and large-cap private equity firms and their portfolio companies. Prior to joining A&M, he founded and led L.E.K. Consulting's San Francisco office, where he was a member of the firm's Private Equity and Media and Technology practices. He also led software development teams at Hewlett-Packard in Germany and participated in a technology start-up in the robotics and imaging space. A graduate of the University of Rochester, he earned a master's degree in business administration from the Haas School at the University of California at Berkeley.
Mr. Chambers, based in Chicago, will focus on pre- and post-investment IT services, including the design and execution of 100-day IT plans. For more than 25 years, he has worked with organizations to reduce their IT operational expenses and improving overall customer service. His leadership has spanned a number of different industries including financial services, electric utilities, manufacturing, healthcare, real estate, health insurance, government services and life sciences.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Chambers served as a director in Protiviti's Technology Risk practice, where he focused on IT organizational assessments, IT cost-improvement engagements, IT infrastructure evaluations and strategic project management office roles. A graduate of Ohio University, he earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Dayton.
With more than 18 years of performance improvement and line management experience, Mr. Halmrast, who is based in Chicago, specializes in hands-on operations leadership, cost reduction and revenue enhancement through process improvement and organizational alignment, organizational change management and customer service delivery. His primary areas of concentration are in the financial services and retail industries.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Halmrast spent eight years with Target Corporation in Minneapolis, where he most recently served as Senior Group Manager Guest Service. As a member of the Corporate Strategy team at Target, Mr. Halmrast introduced innovative performance improvement solutions across multiple functions, including merchandising and credit services. Before Target Corporation, he served as Director Customer Operations for Thomson Reuters' legal publishing unit and as VP Operations for GE Fleet Australia. Mr. Halmrast earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota and holds two formal Six Sigma certifications as Quality Leader and Master Black Belt.
Also joining the firm are: Manager Raymond Rabidoux in Boston, Senior Associates Mark Wang in New York and Michael Giron in Chicago, and Associate Roberto Colon in Miami.
