Alumitech '97 call for papers.WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 28, 1995--The Aluminum Association is now accepting proposals for presentations at Alumitech '97, the second international conference and exposition exposition or exhibition, term frequently applied to an organized public fair or display of industrial and artistic productions, designed usually to promote trade and to reflect cultural progress. for the aluminum industry. Alumitech '97 is May 20-23, 1997 at the INFORUM in Atlanta Atlanta (ətlăn`tə, ăt–), city (1990 pop. 394,017), state capital and seat of Fulton co., NW Ga., on the Chattahoochee R. and Peachtree Creek, near the Appalachian foothills; inc. 1847. . Abstracts of 150 to 200 words are due March 1, 1996. The three-day international conference will feature general session presentations by industry chief executive officers as well as analysts providing global market forecasts. More than 2,000 industry executives representing both manufacturers and aluminum customers from around the world are expected to attend. Subjects include, but are not limited to: new and innovative applications; case histories of applications; new technologies; welding welding, process for joining separate pieces of metal in a continuous metallic bond. Cold-pressure welding is accomplished by the application of high pressure at room temperature; forge welding (forging) is done by means of hammering, with the addition of heat. and joining; forming, stamping, machining, and mechanical finishing; mechanical operations; painting and coating; packaging, handling, safety and health; design, mechanical properties and performances; heat treating; inspection and measurement technology; worker safety and health; standards and specifications; and the environment.
