Altris Signs Enterprise Document Management Contract With Major Chemical and Pharmaceutical Group; Web Distribution Capability, ISO9000 Compliant.

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 1997--Altris Software, Inc. (NASDAQ/NMS:ALTS) today announced that it has signed a contract to install a document management system at the polymer manufacturing division of a major chemical and pharmaceutical group.

Included in the installation will be WISDOM, Altris' Internet product that facilitates document distribution to a wide variety of dispersed preselected users. CAD-Connect will also be integrated so that CAD drawing information can be rapidly distributed among all departments without CAD software on a user's desktop. The system will run on a Microsoft Windows NT Server.

"This will truly be an enterprise-wide document management system," said Jay Tanna, Altris president and CEO. "The first step will be to install the system in the engineering document control department. Further plans call for the system to span all aspects of the plant's operation: human resources, accounting, purchasing and safety, and include all forms of documents, from reports to plant drawings."

Ultimately, the system will control 2 million documents in an ISO9000-compliant environment.
