Altria among big movers on Wall Street


Stocks that were moving substantially or trading heavily Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

NYSE

Altria Group Inc., up 73 cents at $69.80.

The company said it plans to spin off its Philip Morris International cigarette unit.

Nokia Corp., up $2.17 at $32.18.

The company unveiled new Internet services and gadgets for downloading music and playing games on mobile handsets.

Seagate Technology, up 93 cents at $25.39.

Several analysts raised their price targets on the hard disk drive maker after the company raised its outlook for the fiscal first quarter above Wall Street expectations.

NASDAQ

Apple Inc., up $7.26 at $134.08.

The computer and digital music player maker rose as investors anticipated the launch of a new line of iPods that could boost sales.

Affymax Inc., up 56 cents at $22.68.

Shares of the pharmaceutical company rose after an analyst said sales of the company's anemia drug Hematide may benefit from a patent ruling against Roche Holding.

PDL Biopharma Inc., down $4.80 at $18.80.

Shares dropped after the company said it will sell its existing drugs and stop development of a colitis treatment candidate.
