Altra Broadband Launches Marketing Campaign; Company Recruits Texas Instruments Veteran For Marketing and Business Development.

Altra Broadband, a subsidiary of Ansoft Corporation (Nasdaq:ANST), announced today that it has launched a marketing campaign targeted at establishing its Dense Subcarrier Multiplexing (xDSM) technology within the broadband communications marketplace. The campaign begins with the task of identifying and assembling a team of leading industry members to participate in the commercialization of xDSM technology. Altra Broadband will work closely with key customers, subcontractors, and complementary suppliers in order to bring the benefits of its recent technological achievements to the marketplace.

Bill McInerney, a 14-year veteran of Texas Instruments (TI), has joined the company to help drive these Marketing and Business Development efforts. At TI, Mr. McInerney served as Marketing Manager for high volume, as well as emerging, semiconductor product lines. During that time, he successfully drove the acceptance of new semiconductor technology through the development and management of multidisciplinary coalitions among suppliers, producers, and customers. Mr. McInerney also managed the largest customer account for TI's preamplifier product line. His experience developing the supply chain will be leveraged at Altra Broadband to successfully deliver xDSM-based networking products to the marketplace.
