Altman Weil Publication currently produces ten major surveys annually focusing primarily on the economics and management of law firms. The study, which has been published for 30 years, covered 285 law firms in 2006. Altman Weil will become a part of ALM Research which produces ALM Research Online, a subscription database of legal market intelligence, as well as a number of syndicated survey reports, including the annual "Law Firm Business Development Survey," the "Global Law Firm Knowledge Management Survey" and the "Law Firm Outsourcing Survey."

ALM Senior Vice President Jack Berkowitz said the "significant legacy survey data that exists offers new opportunities to expand research services to current and potential clients. The combination of data from these two groups will make ALM the 'go-to' source for information about law firms and their clients." ALM currently owns and produces 33 national and regional magazines and newspapers, including "The American Lawyer," "Corporate Counsel," "The National Law Journal" and "Real Estate Forum."
