Handheld support for Carbon Copy Solution, a leading remote control tool since the 1980s, will be included at no extra cost to current Altiris customers with annual upgrade protection (AUP See acceptable use policy.

Carbon Copy Solution's powerful management features provide the functionality to remotely administer a corporate environment that includes servers, desktops and laptops. As part of the Altiris eXpress(TM) infrastructure, Carbon Copy Solution allows Web-hosted remote control with automated deployment, configuration and reporting capabilities that track client installations and remote sessions.

With Carbon Copy Solution for handhelds, IT administrators can monitor servers and their individual services. Carbon Copy Solution will be compatible with ARM-processor based handhelds running Pocket PC 2000 or 2002, such as the HP iPAQs and select versions of the HP Jornada. Helpdesk Solution 5.6, which will include integration with Carbon Copy Solution for handhelds, is expected to be released Q2 2002. Screen shots are available upon request.
